David Main - Chief Executive

David Main, pictured at a Management Board meetingDavid joined the Fund in September 2003, after a career in finance.

Having qualified as an accountant, David joined the BOC Group where he progressed in the medical devices division and then through a number of senior international finance positions before making his move into general management.

He led sales and distribution businesses, selling to a number of different countries before heading up the UK operation.
On leaving BOC, he became MD of a publicly quoted software company developing products for the healthcare market, and in 1997 was appointed the first non-lawyer Chief Executive of a regional law firm.

The position of Chief Executive with the Fund marks David's first move into the charitable sector, his previous involvement having been as a volunteer. David is married and has three grown-up children.



Robert Hubble - Central Services Director

Robert Hubble, pictured in his officeRobert has been with the Fund since 1993.

He is a chartered accountant with a commercial background, having worked for eight years for Consolidated Gold Fields, a mining finance house, followed by another long stretch with Usher-Walker plc, a manufacturer of printing inks and rollers, latterly as Finance Director.

As Central Services Director, he is responsible for Facilities, IT, Administration and Personnel in addition to the Finance function.


He is also responsible for the team which is installing the Fund's Information Management System, the new multi-functional contact database being developed by the Fund to improve communications with donors, increase efficiency in dealing with applications for assistance and speed up the process of tax claims based on Gift Aid declarations.



Beryl Evans - Operations Director

Beryl brings together all of our client-facing activityBeryl joined the Fund in June 2005, and is responsible for its Operations Department, which brings together the help and advisory, donor care, fundraising and publicity and volunteer support teams.

As such the department undertakes the Fund's client-facing activity – offering financial assistance, information and advice to beneficiaries, collaborating with other agencies and charities, promoting the Fund, supporting its volunteers, encouraging donations, liaison with pay centres and claiming gift aid on contributions.
Beryl has extensive experience within the voluntary and the wider public sector. After a career in corporate communications, including three years as Head of PR for the British Red Cross, in 2001 she was appointed Chief Executive of the National Gardens Scheme.

Before joining the Fund Beryl acted as a consultant to public and private sector organisations on communications and management issues. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and a trustee of two national charities.
