We are the “Charity of the Day” at the event, which is being organised by Civil Service North East. Sponsored through the generosity of TEAM Civil Service, there’s fun for all the family on offer, with live bands, face painting, fun fair rides, and sports taster sessions all available to try.
It’s a great chance for us to raise some much-needed funds. We need you to join our team of staff and fundraising volunteers to give us a little extra help with our activities on the day.
It is a great opportunity to help out your in-house charity at a one off event, meet new people and have some fun in the process!
Volunteer Development Manager Jennie Wharram is co-ordinating the search for volunteers to help out on the day.
She says, “The Big Day Out should bring thousands of civil servants to Newcastle for what should be a really exciting day.
“But the chances are that some of the people attending on the day will have been helped by the Fund at some point. Indeed, part of our offering on the day will be a Help and Advisory surgery so that people can talk to us in confidence about any problems they may have.
“Your help could make sure that the Fund raises a huge amount of money to continue its vital work, and get things done with advice and funds as the in-house charity for the civil service.”
