Once again, the Fund has guaranteed places open for one of the biggest mass participation sporting events in the UK. Our team will join over 25,000 other entrants in a 10 kilometre (6.2 miles) run around the capital.
Last year, over 20 people took up the challenge to go the extra mile for their in-house charity, raising over £5,300.
But Fundraising Initiatives Manager Clare Bridges hopes the Fund can do even better in 2010:
“It’s a fantastic event and ideal for anyone looking to take up a challenge without having to commit to running a marathon,” she says.
“And with the London Olympics coming up in 2 years time, we reckon there will be plenty of people inspired to put on their running shoes and stride out for a great cause!”
The event will be staged at 9.35am on Sunday 11 July. It’s the tenth anniversary of the race, which has in the past attracted runners of the calibre of Olympic Marathon Champion, Stefano Baldini, and Ethiopian Haile Gebresalassie, widely acknowledged as the greatest distance runner of all time.
