The event is one of the UK’s biggest mass-participation runs, and carves a route through many of London’s most famous landmarks, from Mayfair to Whitehall, via St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Despite the warm weather, all of our Fund team made it successfully to the finish line, raising thousands of pounds for the Civil Service charity along the way.
Among them was MoD Permanent Secretary Sir Bill Jeffrey. It’s the third year in which Bill has taken part in the event, to fundraise for a charity which last year gave over three-quarters of a million pounds to current and former staff within the Ministry of Defence.
As last year, he made it round the course in less than an hour.
William Hague, HR Director at the Home Office, took part in the run for the first time. His aim is to greatly raise awareness of the Fund within his department: “I am constantly impressed by the fantastic work that the Fund does for current, former, and retired Civil Servants,” he says.
And the Managing Director of leading-Civil Service newspaper, Civil Service World, Kevin Sorkin, also returned to take part in the event again. This year, he managed to persuade three of his colleagues to join him, and raise money for us!

And if this has given you the running bug, take note that we will have a team for the 2010 British 10K London, which will take place on Sunday 11 July.
