Proving that it was the time for giving, a couple of members of our CSBF Enterprises team joined in. Sandra Dale and Cassie Pearce both donned a Santa suit for the 5k run. Sandra’s task was made harder by her decision to push a buggy with her eldest son, Curtis, strapped in for the ride!
Cassie meanwhile not only took part herself, but persuaded some of her friends – Amy Wise and Jennifer Robins – to join in as well.
The end result was almost £1,000 raised from just our four runners! A fantastic effort given the inclement weather, which meant some rather bedraggled Santas crossing the finish line...
And they had a bit of company to keep them going, as Natalie Wong from our Volunteer Support Team was also dressed up with some place to go, raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Sandra says, “Despite the rainy start, Cassie, Natalie and I completed the 5K Santa Run within the hour.
“As you will see, I had the extra challenge of pushing a big buggy, but my son was a fantastic cheerleader and kept shouting “run faster mummy”!!
“Many thanks to those of you who supported us, it’s much appreciated.”
The Fund is always looking out for anyone who wants to fundraise for us, whether it’s by donning a fancy dress costume, completing a sponsored run (or both at the same time!), or anything else.
