Did you know 4 million people living in the UK today are eligible to apply for our help?

Our Help and Advisory team provide a range of services to make difficult times a little easier for thousands of people every year.

Watch our video:

We aim to cater for all types of situations and problems, meeting all types of need. In many cases it may be an unexpected difficulty that causes a financial problem. In other cases, you may simply require advice and information.

How We Help

Here are just some of the ways in which we provide assistance:

  • In 2004, £3.4 million was given in non-repayable grants. This covered problems as diverse as mobility problems, funeral expenses, and community care projects

  • Nearly 2,000 people used our Information Service, to receive expert advice and guidance on particular issues affecting them

  • Almost half a million pounds was given in allowances to people requiring help with care; either within a nursing home, or by providing support to help maintain their independence

However, because we are a benevolent fund, the different situations where we can help are far too great to be listed in detail. That's why we advise anyone facing a problem that they do not know how to deal with to contact us.

At the very least the Fund can offer you guidance, advice and support. In many cases we also provide financial assistance and last year we were able to help over 8,500 people in this way.
