Below is a list of the Executive Agencies owned by the Government, which currently operate in Northern Ireland.

Appeals ServiceProvides administrative support to the independent tribunals set up by legislation to hear appeals against decisions made by the Decision Makers in a number of Government departments and agencies.
Driver and Vehicle AgencyResponsible for licensing and testing vehicles and drivers in Northern Ireland. It's part of the Department of the Environment.
Environment and Heritage ServiceEHS takes the lead in advising on, and in implementing, the Government's environmental policy and strategy in Northern Ireland. An agency of the Department of the Environment.
Forest ServiceAims to contribute to the economic development of the entire forestry sector in Northern Ireland, whilst at the same time promoting the sustainable management of forests for multiple use and conserving and enhancing the rural environment. An agency of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Health Estates AgencyProvides a centre of specialist professional and technical estate expertise which supports the development and maintenance of an efficient and effective HSS estate for the delivery of health and personal social services. An agency of DHSSPS.
Identity and Passport ServiceThe Agency provides passport services and in the future, as part of the National Identity Scheme, ID cards for British and foreign nationals resident in the UK.
Land and Property ServicesLPS aims to deliver a fully integrated ‘One Stop Shop’ for rating, valuation, registration and mapping services in Northern Ireland. An agency of the Department of Finance and Personnel.
Meteorological OfficeOne of the world's leading providers of environmental and weather-related services. A Defence Agency.
Northern Ireland Prison ServiceThe Prison Service is responsible for providing prison services in Northern Ireland. An agency of the Northern Ireland Office.
Planning ServicePlanning Service is responsible for developing, and implementing, Government planning policies and development plans in Northern Ireland. An agency of Department of Environment.
Public Record Office of Northern IrelandPRONI aims to identify, preserve and make available Northern Ireland's unique archival heritage and community memory. An agency of Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.
Rivers AgencyThe Agency aims to improve social conditions and to support economic development in Northern Ireland through: reducing risk to life and damage to property from flooding from rivers and the sea; and preserving the productive potential of agricultural land. An agency of Department of Agricultural Development.
Roads ServiceAims to facilitate, in a sustainable way, the safe movement of people, goods and services for the social and economic benefit of all people in Northern Ireland. An agency of the Department for Regional Development.
Social Security AgencyThe SSA's main business is to: assess and pay social security benefits accurately and securely; and give advice and information about these benefits. An agency of the Department for Social Development.
The Compensation AgencyThe Compensation Agency was established in April 1992 to support the victims of violent crime by providing compensation to those who sustain loss as a result of actions taken under emergency provisions legislation. An agency of the Northern Ireland Office.
Tribunals ServiceA government agency that provides common administrative support to the main central government tribunals, it's an agency of the Ministry of Justice.
UK Border AgencyManages border control for the United Kingdom, enforcing immigration and customs regulations. They also consider applications for permission to enter or stay in the United Kingdom, citizenship and asylum.
Youth Justice AgencyAims to prevent offending by children. An agency of the Northern Ireland Office.
