However, Charlie became very frail and in need of more care than his wife could manage.
Beryl asked the Fund to help place her husband in a comfortable home for a short break, with a view to long-term care when the time came.
Our Regional Services Co-ordinator helped Beryl visit two homes in the area and found one with a vacancy, where her husband spent a happy fortnight making new friends.
