Cabinet Office Wants Staff Contribution

The Civil Service Benevolent Fund is proud to announce that it has become a community partner of the Cabinet Office’s COntribution scheme, run in association with Timebank.

The aim of the scheme is simple. It’s encouraging Cabinet Office staff to use up to 5 days special leave to volunteer for a charity or worthy cause.

The Fund is one of just 15 charities to have been selected by the Cabinet Office to be a community partner for this project.

Full details of the scheme can be found at their new website.

Volunteer Development Manager Jennie Wharram says, “We’re thrilled to be involved so closely with a project that has great potential.

“The Fund is the in-house charity for all current and former civil servants, and we hope they will feel encouraged to spend some of their time making difficult times a little easier for their colleagues.

“Volunteering for the Fund isn’t just about what you can do for us, it’s also about what we can do for you.

“Many of our roles can help increase skill sets, raise self-confidence, and encourage volunteers to seek more responsibility.

“And most importantly, they are meant to give our volunteers a sense of achievement as well as hopefully being enjoyable for them to do.”

Of course, you don’t have to be a member of the Cabinet Office to become a Fund Volunteer.

No matter which department/agency/Associated Organisation you work for, there’s a role to suit.
