The report, entitled Rely On Us, combines facts and figures detailing our services to civil servants and staff of Associated Organisations over the last 12 months, with some real-life examples of where the Fund got things done for people who were struggling.
Introducing the report, Chief Executive Merrick Willis says, “In what has been a difficult year for many people, we perhaps shouldn’t be surprised that 2009 represents the busiest year in the Fund’s long history.
“The simple fact is that we can expect an ever greater call on the Fund’s resources in the years to come.
"Your support is more crucial now than at any time in our history, and we are enormously grateful to each and every one of you that makes a donation, or volunteers.
“We are proud to be your in-house charity.”
Among the cases featured in the report is a moving story from Neal Easteal.
Neal, like so many others, thought he’d never need the Fund’s help. “I was one of those people that said, ‘It will never happen to me.’ I was wrong. It did.
“The Fund was there for me when the chips were down. I owe them my life. I will never be able to repay the kindness and consideration that they have shown me during this last year.”
