For the fourth year running, we’ve joined up with the Recycling Appeal to take part in Bring A Phone To Work Day, a scheme which benefits, you, us, and the environment.
The initiative encourages workplaces from all over the UK to bring old phones into work on a designated day to recycle them and raise money for charity.
With a predicted 4 million mobile phones to be upgraded this Christmas, it is the perfect opportunity to clear out and get rid of old phones, while helping your own very worthwhile charity and helping the environment as well. This year the Civil Service Benevolent Fund is looking to all staff to support this fundraising challenge.
To get involved in your office, all you need to do is persuade your colleagues to bring in their unwanted mobile phones to be recycled. It’s reckoned that there are far more mobile phones than there are people living in the UK, so this shouldn’t be too tricky for people to contribute to!
Then, when you have 10 or more, head over to the Bring A Phone To Work Day website and sign up to register your involvement.
Co-ordinating our involvement in this unique recycling fundraiser is CSBF Enterprises Manager, Clare Bridges.
“Everyone is well aware of the need to protect the environment,” she says, “and this is a very quick and easy way of doing so, while helping out fellow colleagues within the Civil Service at the same time.
The Fund is your own, in-house charity and is here for you and your families in times of personal difficulty.
