It’s the first time Fund Week has been held in Northern Ireland, and we’re on the lookout for people to organise events in their workplace, support our fundraising initiatives, and get behind what we expect will be a fundraising extravaganza.
Fundraising for the Fund means we will continue to be able to give advice and funds to people who are struggling, with a quick, efficient, independent and confidential service.
Leading the way are our Northern Ireland National Committee. They’re asking each of the main Northern Ireland Civil Service departments to support Fund Week, and have given them quite a challenge...
Chair of the Committee, Gerry Anketell, says, “In 2008 we were asked by the Fund’s then CEO, David Main, to raise £12,500 for our 125th anniversary. We accepted the challenge but said we would raise it by 2011, which we did in fine style.
“So, we needed a new challenge which the Northern Ireland Civil Service departments have accepted – to raise £1,000 each to mark the Fund’s anniversary!”
Head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service, Sir Bruce Robinson, is already signed up as a Fund Week supporter.
He says, “This is another tremendous opportunity for us all to show our support for a most worthy cause – our own charity, which supports colleagues when they are in need.
“I look forward to hearing of exciting and imaginative fundraising events being undertaken across departments!”
So, what can you do to support our first-ever Northern Ireland Fund Week?
